God is no less 'him' than 'God'
for both gender and language are a means of disassembling a whole
a whole which is creation, which is creator.
What makes sense for me is that Life is whole, that is, when we comprehend existence as
complete, we have begun to explore how we are a part of this, a part of creation, creator.
defining self as part of, not different than,
In this way there are appropriate ways to be in each place
and everything we do necessarily must be part of complete cycles
as those things that break cycles, or lead life out of balance, alter the very life force that supports our existence. Our species can not survive without all of life, so why do we disrupt Life?
For all ways of living there is appropriate technology
and for the people we share life with, appropriate ways.
Often I say a blessing:
May my intention be to experience.
I trust that I am a part of all that is.
Today I live, knowing my life force belongs.

two things:
Our species can not survive without all of life, so why do we disrupt Life?
perhaps destruction is an essential part of creation - i would argue that it is in itself necessarily interdependent with creation. could it even be seen as the same thing?
in many of your posts and views about the way 'we should take care of our ecology', you assume, as a form of determinism, that our (human) survival is assumed to be a good thing. within the grand scheme of things, perceiving even slightly the immensity of our universe as we do today, how can we still hold this old-fashioned sense a self-importance? who cares about us? is there a magical/loving/beautiful destiny? i have left those ideas for the extreme romantics...
in the western world, the narcissic wound first occured by Galileo, explaining that we (the earth) is not at the center of the galaxy. next, we had Darwin say that the human species is not special, but just a scientific result of gene modification. finally, yet human consciousness has not yet reached this understanding on a global level (yet, this is also the case for the previous two wounds), in developing an understanding of interdependence and interconnectedness, we will suffer the final blow of realizing the not-self dimension of our being....
just some thoughts.. :-)
hey boaz
thanks.
I'm not going to fool myself into believing that I'm ready to die. I'm selfish and am alive to experience this body during this life... that's the honest truth! I do imagine that fewer humyns would be positive for all of life, but i'm not willing to die, so why would i offer up others to die for me?
Anybody else? thoughts?!
my love
ben
