bahahaha! that's hilarious that you used the air nailer on it. i thought for sure you'd use some elbow grease and a hammer. i guess you're not a Luddite like me!

Thanks Dan
you'd die to know that I also used a
-chop saw
-electric driver
-a truck (to carry those cedar poles.)
also all the fasteners are made out of metal :)
I was just cheating all over the place!
you win the luddite round this time...

Just for the record, the Luddites were not against technology. They were, like our friend Ben here, skilled artisans who were threatened by the advent of industrial capitalism (and the large factories, and in particular, mechanical looms, that put their jobs and trade in jeopardy). The Luddites would therefore burn down factories and automated machinery, and leave a note signed by "General Ludd", not out of spite for technological change, but to protect their livelihoods! Building one's own bed in this day and age, regardless of the tools used, strikes me as a genuine action in Ludditism - as opposed to, say, purchasing a bed from IKEA with parts fabricated in some Vietnamese EPZ.... (just a quibble).

well said Ryan, for certainly if a luddite were opposed to technology, then the hammer may be as negative as a nail gun. The luddite, as a craftsperson, values these tools differently, as would an ecologist.
