thoughts on where I'm moving

These places, like scattered paper, the diminishing success of the forest economy.
Scattered over landscapes, cut through forests that sustain
when will we begin to ask why? and how?
What is our (collective) 500 year plan? 1000 year plan?
the one that we live out year after year in the systems that we know repeat,
year after year...

you can almost see us putting trees in over there on the left!
ha!
yah man,
and I"m actually considering going back for the cash grab this summer too!
consider other options. souls get eaten alive out there. that job isn't about making the world a better place, it's about allowing more clearcuts to happen...
don't be silly dan,
I'm saving the bank account, not the earth... and anyways, in 60 years when those trees are ready to harvest, is there actually going to be any oil to do it? any humans?
companies have to offset their oldgrowth cuts by planting new stuff. so as planters, we're cogs in the machine legitimizing oldgrowth destruction. it's not just about cutting those plantations that are going into the ground now.
besides, if there's no hope, why are you promoting the green party?!
i plan on being around in 60 years...
stay cool, my friend.
Well, the issue I raise with the green party is one that reveals the thinness of canadian democracy. It is important to use these times to reveal the nature of the systems that we live in. What does 'democracy' describe if the very context of discussion excludes a party that (although w/o any seats) represents a significant number of people across the country..
and Dan (I smile as I write this) I don't imagine you'll be pulling trees out of the bush in 60 years.
stay young,
