Thoughts on imperfection

I've been hard on myself for not being thorough, for publishing unpolished writing on this blog.

Today I was cycling in paradise. The deep cold autumn air biting my sun warmed face under these dramatic mountains alongside the Skeena and I realized how I love imperfection, especially with writing, because it forces the reader to engage in ways that cause the text to come alive. Disjointed thoughts, akward word choice, or unusual argumentation can all give rise to “well I think what he means is..” or “why didn’t he say …”
